Youth photo policy

Clear choices. Private originals. No AI processing.

Families control public media permission separately from private-album protection. Public use is off unless a guardian says yes.

Effective September 2, 2026 · Release version pathfinder-photo-release-v1

Pathfinder's AI commitment

Pathfinder does not use or send youth photos, including locked originals, to external AI services for training, facial recognition, or automated image analysis.

If a guardian allows a photo to be made public, outside search engines, social platforms, or third parties may copy or analyze that public image beyond Pathfinder's control. Choosing “do not allow” keeps the youth out of Pathfinder's public and promotional media.

Two separate family choices

1. Public photo & media release

Off by default. A guardian may allow or decline Pathfinder-controlled website, social, email, and print use, and may revoke future use later.

2. Private family albums

A guardian may require the youth's face to be manually pixelated for other families. This choice does not grant public use.

Original photo retention

Pathfinder retains the original upload in private storage for restricted administrative recovery, safety, or correction needs. Normal family viewing never uses that original when a protected copy is required. Access to an original is limited to administrators and recorded in the audit log.

Pathfinder photo & media release

I authorize Pathfinder Outdoor Education Center and its authorized representatives to photograph or record my youth and use their image or voice in Pathfinder-controlled educational, promotional, fundraising, and community materials, including Pathfinder websites, social media, email, and print, without payment. Pathfinder will not publish my youth's full name with an image without separate permission, sell the image, or submit youth photos to external AI services for training, facial recognition, or automated image analysis. I may revoke future use by changing this setting or contacting Pathfinder. Revocation applies to future use and may not recall materials already printed or public copies outside Pathfinder's control.

Change a choice or request removal

A household adult can change either setting from the youth's family profile. For help locating or removing a specific image, use the Pathfinder support page.
